'Lucknow Super Giants'...Yes that's the new name of Lucknow IPL Team

Last year, the Lucknow franchise of Indian Premier League was purchased by the Sanjiv Goenka-owned RPSG group in Rs 7090 Crores. Recently a contest was announced by the team named 'Naam banao naam kamao', through which now the team finally have a new name, a new identity.

In a tweet by the team, Mr. Goenka revealed the name and informed that the team will be called 'Lucknow Super Giants'. The name has been chosen by the fans, Goenka informed in a video message on Monday.

“And the name that we have chosen based on your recommendations is Lucknow Super Giants. Thank you so much for your response and love and continue to give us your blessings in the future as well”, he said.

He also said, “Thank you so much for your overwhelming response to the ‘Naam banao naam kamao’ contest. Lakhs and lakhs of people responded, based on that we are very happy to choose the name for the Lucknow IPL team."

The new team will be on the grounds of IPL very soon, as per the latest information coming from the Board Secratary Jay Shah. On 22 January 2022, he said that BCCI is set to conduct the 2022 IPL from last week of March to end of May.
