Vedas notice mantras for supplications to carry respectable contemplation to mind and decontaminate it. Rigveda portrays sattva, raja, and tama as personality attributes and recognizes mental illness independent of physical ailment.

Yajurveda conceptualized the mind as the inner flame of knowledge.

Atharvaveda portrays "Manas" as an instrument of hypnotism and talks insights of willpower, feeling, emotions, motivation, and awareness. "Unmad" (psychosis) has been referenced as a deluded state of mind in Vedas with etiology reminiscent of both natural (worms/microorganisms, fever, and so forth) and functional (sins toward Gods) origin.

Vedas additionally notice treatment for mental issues going from psychosis, epilepsy, rest problem, and hostility as "Bheshaj" (medication) and supplications to God (psychotherapy), alongside preventive techniques, for example, "Yam" and "Niyam" (social control) and "Asan" and "Pranayam" (proactive tasks)

On Mental Health Day we bring you the 4 very important techniques for your mental health:

1. Stay positive, calm, and composed

Indeed it is a tough task to stay positive all the time. After all, we have other emotions too but over the period of time, with practice, we can master it. Staying positive means taking things and situations positively and try to think about simplifying life rather than complicating it.

"I can do it!", "It's fine!" and "We shall overcome" attitude is the most important thing to stay positive.
Practice it more and more with full concentration.

2. Stay away from negativity

Often we are seriously affecting our mental health by comparing ourselves to someone, envying someone or thinking of taking revenge. In such a situation, when you think negatively, then excessive thoughts are generated in your mind, due to which your heart rate increases. For this reason, a disease like hypertension may cause severe problem to your mental health, so stay away from negative thoughts for yourself.

3. Share your emotions

Amid Covid-19 pandemic situation, we all might have come closer and got trapped in our houses but somewhere mentally we are getting detached from our family members which is causing tension, anxiety and nervous strain.

Throw this thought out of your mind that you will be judged if you say something.

People are going to judge you anyway. So just be outspoken and share what you feel to someone who is close to you. Instead of hiding such things that are causing stress, share it with someone close when needed. This will ease your mind. Spending too much time worrying is not good for one's mental health. It may cause some opposite effects on your body too.

So keep calm and share what is in your head.
